Extraordinary young artist Scott Booth, who uses his guitar to make electronic music via an assortment of pedals , returns to Jack Said What for his second single. ‘The Beginning’ perversely follows first outing ‘The End’, and is a melodic, widescreen 4/4 cut that uses sounds not available on any plugins. ‘The Beginning’ recalls the live electronic cinematica of an act such as Bonobo, with Scott’s guitar providing the unique Celtic and agrarian sounds. A rejuvenated Jon Carter, back in the music game after 15 years out running hospitality venues, twists ‘The Beginning’ into new acidic shapes on his remix.
